It's All About ME, Jacklyn Smith aka Kelly on "Charlie's Angels" & the 1970s

First Flight 1979 since I was 3 years old...

circa 1979 Ready to head out to the Disco ♥

Dancing the night away at the Disco oh and of course eating some cake ♥

So you are probably wondering what do I and the lovely Jacklyn Smith have in common?   Really not much she is at least a decade and a little more older than I, yet looks so much younger!! Jacklyn has been married 4x's to my 1, and was on some little TV show in the late 70's called "Charlie's Angels" maybe you may have heard of it... was a gorgeous model and in my opinion still looks just as great.  It seems that she had a lot to do on what my own style would be when I was just myself starting to discover what I liked and disliked... 1. Love the high waisted pants, shorts, and jeans, but did not like very wide bell-bottoms  2. Loved my white bikini just like the one on her below  3. Loved stripped shirts, vests, slick long sleeve blouses with bows or no bows on the top, Danskin skirts, and leotards was for disco dancing back then and yes I loved the 70s!  So, I was a dancing queen loved Saturday Night Fever and Dance Fever with Denny Terrio, and it seems that I also loved the style of Kelly on Charlie's Angel ♥

Happy Mothers Day

Here I am in my little red dress that my mom made for me back in the early 60's I am the oldest of 7 kids although there were only 5 of us back then not really sure if this is 1965 or 1966 but I can say that by 1969 my mom had my last sibling another girl so we are 4 girls and 3 boys...
Now the other picture is the only picture I could find where I did not look as if I was loosing my mind (Giselle of "Machine Wash Warm" aka my daughter always looking tres chic,) how my mom manage to raise 7 kids almost by herself is beyond me, we were not a calm or quiet bunch, we were always up to no good!!!
My mom is an amazing woman unfortunately for the last 10 years her health has been very poor, I hope and pray that one day I can take her with me to Europe she has always wanted to visit Venice, but suffers with so many allergies among many other things that right now it is too scary to attempt such a trip, she is only 20 years older than me so I have hope that one day this will become a reality.  To all the moms and soon to be moms have a Very Happy Mothers Day!

Summer Traveling in Style

So in love with this Alice + Olivia Dress and what about those gorgeous Jean Michel Cazabat Heels along with the Rebecca Minkoff Oversized Clutch I really would not have the heart to separate them.

Jenni Kanye blazer, shorts and booties this needs to be part of my summer travel clothing staple.

For someone that is short like moi this Rebecca Taylor skirt is just perfect with those high slits on the side no need to worry that I will look too short even when the skirt reaches down to my ankles.

Oh I so wish I could wear this lovely Tibi skirt just too long for my short little self, but that Pencey top is just right for the hot summer days and nights here in South Florida!

Rompers anyone? I am old enough to say that rompers sort of remind me of my Physical Education gym suits.  I did always manage to get the really short short ones, which pretty much looked like the Marc by Marc Jacobs romper below, only mine were in plain white worn with white Keds the Original Sneaker .

Happy Earth Day - In my Own Back yard!

With 1.5 million acres of swamps, saw-grass prairies and sub-tropical jungles, Everglades National Park is one of the most unusual public parks in the United States. Located on the southern tip of Florida, the park is home to 14 rare and endangered species, including the American Crocodile, the Florida Panther and the West Indian Manatee. A large portion of the park is primitive, explored only by adventurists and researchers – but visitors have ample opportunity to walk, camp and canoe through the flat and watery park that is also known as “the river of grass.” Courtesy of About.com
I happen to live in what use to be part of "The Everglades" on any given day as you can see in some of the pictures below you can find Egrets, White Ibis,  and on occasion a funny lizards like the one on our coconut, called the Cuban Knight Anole - native to Cuba my country of birth, it has migrated to Florida with the assistance of humans. So in honor of Earth Day I promise to do what I can to protect this very precious Eco-system and I will start by replanting my now forgotten vegetable garden and posting pictures of the year long project here next Earth Day.
