Tinkerbell We Will Miss You...1997-2012

    
     No words can express how much we will miss our beautiful little Tinkerbell, as my daughter chicGiselle of Machine Wash Warm would say, she was not a dog, Tinkerbell was a member of our family! 
She would had been 15 years old in less than a month, but sadly in the last two months not only did she have bladder stones, but she also had bladder cancer and the tumor made it impossible for anything to truly be done, I had to make the worst decision of my life, but with the support of our family, we were able to make the right choices for her, no more would she suffer.  There is so much more that I would love to say, but I know that I could never express just exactly what she meant to us and how much we loved her.  Tinkerbell, we will miss you always!

 A crisp, long-sleeve white shirt is a style classic and can be a staple of every woman’s wardrobe. Though it may evoke work or school for many women, it has lots more potential with different fabrics, silhouettes, cuff, sleeve and collar variations.
History of the White Shirt
One of the earliest revolutionary uses for the white shirt was during the 1920s when the women's workforce expanded. Coco Chanel shocked the fashion world by discarding the corset and donning a loose white shirt. In the 1950s, Audrey Hepburn wore a white collared shirt with rolled sleeves and turned-up collar in Roman Holiday, making it iconic with a timeless femininity.
Later in the 1970s with the advent of feminism, Marlene Dietrich and Katharine Hepburn were seen in mannish shirts and slacks, bringing in an androgynous style. The 1980s featured a variety of ladies white shirts from Vivienne Westwood's pirate collection, to the prim blouse-style shirt worn by Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 Weeks.
Pulp Fiction had Uma Thurman looking very stylish in a white shirt, cigarette pants and ballet pumps. Other more recent wearers of the classic white shirt include Katie Holmes, Jennifer Aniston, Eva Mendes, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson and Gwen Stefani.

Happy Mother's Day Mami ♥

How crazy it is that this year I have no time to even write about my beautiful  and loving Mom just a few Happy Mother's Day all over the WWW and that is it?  Tried looking for some picture of her and I from back in the day, but could not find it fast enough the one above has been recycled so many times...but still here I am trying to come up with the words that say to her How much I love her and so appreciate everything she has ever done for me and my other 6 siblings, see she is not doing well lives everyday in excruciating pain Yet she finds the time to call you and make sure that you are OK, if she could run to your side and make the pain go away well you know she will be there, and mother's are just what the doctor ordered!
I was thinking do we spend enough time with our mother's, we get so very busy everyday that sometimes we forget that we are on borrowed time, that maybe other things can and should wait and we, I should remember to make time to spend with one of the most important people in my life MY MOTHER!!!
...Mami te quiero con todo mi corazon, tu hija!

Sure Feels Like Summer

I am going to say it Summer has officially arrived, the bodies are fit and tanned, if we had a Spring, and I have it from good sources that we have "Sprung Forward,"  I must have slept through it, but of course in SOFLA as some of us lovingly call it, we wear spring/summer in an effectively very stylish manner, because really sometimes it is a little bit difficult to tell when Spring ended and Summer began.
I love practically every piece in this set but especially am super excited when I see shoes that are seemingly comfortable and that I can wear practically almost all year in the deep south...these lovely wedges from Ash I found over at Stanwells Boutique , shopping online outside the EU then your in luck it is tax Free and Free worldwide deliverly;  what I love is that they have this great textured look, the fabulous coral color, and the fact that it reminds me of a set of wedges I owned dare I say it back in the late 70's really make it a must buy for moi! 
The top is Sonja from "Marc by Marc Jacobs" a lovely semi sheer silk-cashmere, perfect for the summer days and nights, and available from EKSEPTION online a luxury online shop from Spain, as well as various stores, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's just to name a few .

- Remember when "dressing up" was a daily practice...well at least here in the US, in some cities (Paris to name a few) it is considered outrageous still to this day to step out in your sweats even when going down to the market, or so I have been told...   

I was a bit young (an infant) but my mother sure does remember those days it was not strange to head out to the market with your heals and nice gloves, and makeup in place, how did they find the time?  In the article "No More Yoga Pants: How to dress like a FrenchWoman" by Susan Wagner    I walked away with some great tips on how to "dress up" in today's hurried world -

Spring has Sprung!

  

Okay so to be honest Spring came a long time ago here in South Florida, or maybe it never left, with temperatures in the 80F it feels more like summer, but there is still something to be said about the renewed sense of Spirit that we all feel around this time of year, ever heard of Spring Cleaning, or how about Spring Forward, and of course many refer to Spring as a time for "Renewal, Rebirth, and Regrowth..." 

Now by now you are probably wondering what does a photo of a briefcase with some green grass,  a lovely picnic lunch and scenery has to do with Spring, Well I say that this is our version of Spring but really, I thought this was the most fantastic, fabulous, Spring forward :) idea I have ever seen - found the DIY over at Design Sponge where the very talented Paige Russell of Paige + Modern was guest blogging.   Try it out be a part of the other 3 R's "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce!"

Call me an old Romantic, but this short film not only made me shed a tear or two (this was a good thing) but the music tugged at my heart strings...I so love these colors, and Michelle Phan you are such a romantic, and what a fun way to learn on the proper way to apply lipstick!
